AINSOF API

Build with AINSOF

Bring music written by real composers into your product. Search it, hear it, cut it to time, score a video with it, and carry its credits with it.

The AINSOF API

One address, https://mcp.ainsof.io/, answers two ways. Send JSON with an action and you are using REST. Connect an AI assistant and the same tools appear over MCP. Both run the same code and return the same answers.

For a quick start, follow Get started. To put music on a video, see Music for video. To cut a track to an exact length, see Cut to time.

Getting access

You can try the API without a key: anonymous calls get 300 successful requests a day. For your own project, create a free key after signing in to ainsof.io with Google or email. A key gives you 1,000 requests a day, usage counted to you alone, and renders and edits that are never shared with other callers (their links work for anyone you send them to). Without a key, the video actions ask a person to sign in once on ainsof.io first; with a key there is no extra step.

Previews and licences

Everything the API plays is clean 192 kbps audio (MP3; AAC inside scored MP4s), made for auditioning and cutting. A key is not a licence. Publishing, broadcast, advertising or any release needs a licence from AINSOF: write to info@ainsof.io. Most answers carry a licensing object that says the same thing in plain words.

Technical details

  • Base URL: POST https://mcp.ainsof.io/ with a JSON body.
  • Formats: JSON in, JSON out. Cross origin requests are allowed.
  • Long jobs: searches, renders and edits wait up to 20 seconds. If a job is not done, you get 202 with error: "still_running"; send the identical request again and it picks up the same job.
  • Timeouts: give each request at least 30 seconds before your client gives up, and wait a few seconds between repeats of a still_running job.
  • Reference: every action, parameter and error is in the API Reference.
