Brief ChatGPT like a music supervisor
How to go from a scene description to music you can actually use, without leaving the chat: cut to length, placed on your video, with the cue sheet.
Why we built an app inside ChatGPT
If you already think through a brief in ChatGPT, you know where it stops: it can describe the music a scene needs, but it can't play you a cue, cut it to your length or tell you who wrote it, so the chat ends with ideas you still have to find and clear. We built the AINSOF app so the same conversation can finish the job. For us, it meant meeting people where they already brief, without building a second product: the app runs on the same tools as our MCP server, so search, cuts, scoring and cue sheets work the same in ChatGPT as in Claude. What it solved is the gap between a good brief and a cue you can actually use.
Find music in ChatGPT, step by step
1.Add AINSOF to ChatGPT
Open the AINSOF app in ChatGPT and add it. There is no key to paste, and searching and listening are free. Then ask for music in any chat.
2.Describe the scene, not the genre
Brief it like a music supervisor: what happens on screen, how long it runs, where the music has to land (a logo, a reveal, a cut to black) and what to avoid. A genre word alone narrows almost nothing. Moods and exclusions work as plain words: warm and optimistic, tense underscore, no vocals.
Try this brief on ainsof.io
We ran exactly this brief. Among the first three results were Let's Make It Happen by Alon Peretz from Shining Ahead and The World Feels Friendly Today by Tom Goldstein from Secret Garden. Close but not right? Change one thing (“same feel, no drums”) rather than rewriting the brief; ChatGPT carries your earlier requirements into the next search.
To browse instead, the playlists are grouped by use: commercials and ads for a launch, corporate for a company film, inspiration for an uplifting story, underscore for a documentary:
3.Start from a song you already love
Paste a YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music or Deezer link, or just type the artist and title. AINSOF answers with original music from its own catalog in that spirit, never the recording itself, which it can't license. Say what you love about the reference (the groove, the instruments, the energy) and the match gets sharper. SoundCloud and TikTok links don't work; give the artist and title instead.
On an AINSOF cue that's close, you can also point at the passage you like, giving its start and end times, and ask for more like that moment. Each result names where the matching passage sits, so you can jump straight to it.
4.Cut it to the exact length
Fifteen seconds for a pre-roll, six for a bumper, a loop for a background: ask in the chat. First check the cue's ready-made cuts and versions; most cues come with 15, 30, 40 and 60-second cuts. Any other length, from one second to five minutes, is edited the way an editor would do it: the real opening, a jump of whole bars, the real ending, and no fade in the middle.
You get the nearest length where the music genuinely ends, so it may run a little over or under. For a locked picture, give the video's length and the cut comes back exact; add the second your logo appears and the song's arrival lands there. Real results for every kind of cut are in how we built our cutting agent.
5.Put the music on your video
Share a link to the video file itself (a direct link, Dropbox or Google Drive; a YouTube or Vimeo page won't work) with one line of brief, or name the cue you've chosen. AINSOF measures the cut, picks a track, places it to your shots and length, and sends the video back. A quick sign-in on ainsof.io comes first. Listen before you keep it; if the pick doesn't suit the film, ask for another option or name the cue you want.
Then ask for the delivery: the scored video, each music section as an MP3 named with its start timecode, and the cue sheet, so you can rebuild the score on your own timeline. Downloading the files needs a sign-in and an active plan. The clip below is one of our demos: six seconds of skiing with the shot's own sound taken off, scored with Game Night (We On) from For The Fight, cut from the master on a downbeat so the music starts on the bar.
Send the cut. Get it back with music.
Add AINSOF to ChatGPT6.Get the paperwork with the music
Ask for the cue sheet and you get what a delivery spec asks for: every writer with their IPI number and society, AINSOF as publisher, the ISRC, tempo and key. Its duration is the full track's, so add the time the cue plays in your cut, and how it's used, from your timeline. Our cue sheet guide walks through a real one.
The same tools on ainsof.io
Prefer a mouse? The music page on ainsof.io runs the same search, with every version of a cue on its page. It also searches by video: drop in a clip and get cues for that picture.
Beyond ChatGPT: Claude, Gemini, Grok and Cursor
The same tools you used in ChatGPT work in any assistant that supports MCP, the open standard for plugging tools into AI. In Claude, add a custom connector named AINSOF with the address https://mcp.ainsof.io. Setup for Gemini, Grok and Cursor is on ainsof.io/mcp, and developers can build on the same tools through the AINSOF API.
Every cue you get this way was written, performed and produced by human composers. Nothing in the catalog is AI-generated. Sound effects are in the same place when the cut needs them. A preview and a cue sheet are not a license; licensing for every kind of project is on the pricing page.

How we built an AI agent that cuts music like an editor
Ads, pre-rolls, bumpers and logo stings all need music at an exact length, and a short version has to sound as if the song was written that long. How we built an AI agent that makes our cuts, how we trained it on our own editor's corrections, and how you can ask for the same kind of cut in ChatGPT or Claude.

Ask your AI assistant for the cue sheet, not just the music
An AI assistant can find the music for your edit in minutes. The paperwork has to keep up. What a cue sheet holds, why it matters more when AI does the searching, and how to get one for every cue in the same conversation where you chose it.
